Melt Flow Measurement System (OP5)
The OCS Melt Flow Measurement System (OP5) can measure polymer powder or pellet samples’ Melt Index (MI). The MI is a measure of the flowability of a polymer melt, and it is an essential property for many applications.
The OP5 uses an exact melt-pressure measurement technique to measure the MI. This technique is more accurate than the traditional method of measuring the MI, which uses a capillary viscometer. The OP5 also has a fast sampling rate, allowing for measuring the MI in a shorter time.
The OP5 can be used to test various polymer powders and pellets. Some of the materials that can be tested with the OP5 include Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), Polystyrene (PS), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS).
